12.31.06pm GMT Mon 29th Sep 2003

Vincent Cable MP hosted, at his home in Twickenham, a coffee morning on Friday 26th September 2003 as part of Macmillan Cancer Relief's Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning. The event raised £250 for the charity.

Vincent Cable said "There was a lot of enthusiasm to help this very popular charity. I am delighted we have been able to give something back to such a worthwhile cause. I want to thank those who supported us and Sainsbury's at Hampton who donated cakes."

The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning has raised £20 million over 13 years and it is hoped this year to break all records. The funding is to provide information and counselling centres, specialist medical staff and buildings for cancer treatment and care.

For general information about the coffee morning telephone the Macmillan Cancer Relief Press Office on 020 7840 7821.
