Businesses urged to adopt travel plans

5.36.33pm GMT Fri 7th Dec 2007

Businesses in the borough are being urged to adopt special plans to promote green travel for their staff.

Travel Plans involve an action plan of practical measures to encourage staff to travel using, wherever possible, sustainable forms of transport such as walking, cycling or public transport. A Travel Plan Network is being launched in Teddington on November 28 to act as a forum for the exchange of ideas on travel solutions. Businesses will receive advice and resources to help them develop travel plans.

Cabinet Member for Traffic, Transport and Parking, Cllr David Trigg, said: "This is an important step in the drive to encourage local businesses to develop and implement travel plans. And we would like as many businesses as possible in the Teddington area to come along to this event. We will be applying for funding from TfL to implement similar schemes elsewhere in the borough."
