• LOCAL campaigner Linda Chung has won the Hampstead by-election, capturing the previously Conservative seat with a dramatic swing of almost 10 % to the Liberal Democrats. The result in full:

Linda Chung (Lib Dem) 1242 (45 % + 12 %)

Conservative 1114 (40 % - 7 %)

Labour 289 (10 %)

Green 140 (5 %)

BNP 29 (1 %)
